Vincenzo Gagliardi on Sbarro Health Research Organization’s Journey from the U.S. to Italy
Vincenzo Gagliardi, Senior Sales Manager of Alleanza Assicurazioni, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“It was 1993 when a biomedical research center founded by an Italian-American, Antonio Giordano, was born: the Sbarro Health Research Organization. The mission of the SHRO is not only ambitious, but also commendable: to ensure quality scientific research in order to improve our lives on earth.
Through fundraising he has managed to finance and support many young researchers over time, especially Italians.
From the States to Italy, the Institute has also landed in Italy, within the Piedmontese Technological Pole, a wind of hope in a country held back by limited investments in education and in the ability to attract talent and capital, despite the excellent quality in scientific research and strong exports. The goal, in fact, is the creation of a center of excellence by encouraging the return to Italy of Italian researchers working abroad.
Sbarro for me is synonymous with family.
The Gala Dinner on June 25th, in the splendid setting of the Hotel & Resort Le Axidie, launched a strong signal of collective trust, with € 200,000 raised.
A precious evening.
For scholarships and oncology research projects.
Seek new horizons, never stop dreaming.
Just like science does.
Finally, best wishes for a good job to Prof. newly appointed as a member of the Superior Council of Health for the new three-year period 2025-2028.
With esteem and gratitude.”
