Vanessa Kerry: My remarks from the Climate and Health Day
Vanessa Kerry, CEO of Seed Global Health, posted on LinkedIn:
“Thank you National Academy of Medicine and NAM President Victor Dzau for hosting the Climate and Health Day last week. It was great to be a part of the event and address not only the challenges of climate and health, but also the solutions. In my remarks I shared:
1. The importance of health workers to drive health systems strengthening
2. The need to no longer look to a problems-approach to drive the suggested solutions, but instead strong health systems as a solution for all problems, and
3. Pressed for a new way of leveraging investments in health – creating the fiscal space for new financing through debt relief and articulating better health’s critical return on investment.
You can watch my remarks in full along with remarks and panel discussion with other from the day, including remarks from Ali Zaidi (National Climate Advisor, White House Climate Policy Office) and a global health leaders panel discussion with The Rockefeller Foundation, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), AstraZeneca and The World Bank.”
