Udhayvir Grewal: Chromogranin A is not a screening test for neuroendocrine tumors
Udhayvir Grewal, Resident Physician at Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport Academy Medical Centre, shared this post on X:
“Chromogranin A is NOT a screening test for neuroendocrine tumors.
Chromogranin A is NOT a reliable tumor marker for monitoring disease (let alone making treatment decisions) among patients with neuroendocrine tumors.
Chromogranin A CAN be falsely elevated due to causes such as PPI, renal insufficiency, etc.”
