Stacey Tinianov: Delighted to see the “Innovation for Impact” message embedded in the AACR25 theme
Stacey Tinianov, Executive Director at Advocates for Collaborative Education, posted on LinkedIn:
“In many industries, innovation is often celebrated for its novelty alone. New ideas, new tools, new processes, and new technologies are exciting and valuable in their own way. But in cancer research, innovation must be more than just new – it must be meaningful.
It must be impactful.
With this in mind, I am delighted to see the “Innovation for Impact” message embedded in the AACR25 theme and grateful that innovations shared here are not about chasing headlines or riding trends.
This week at the American Association for Cancer Research Annual Meeting, the research is ultimately about improving the lives of people with a diagnosis or history of cancer, their families, and their care partners. It’s about asking: Will this discovery accelerate time to accurate diagnosis Expand treatment options? Extend length of life? Improve quality of life?
Grateful to be surrounded by others who understand that innovation without impact isn’t progress. It’s distraction.”
