Julia’s Brave Battle Against Leukemia: A Story of Hope and Progress – St. Baldrick’s Foundation
St. Baldrick’s Foundation posted on LinkedIn:
“Six-year-old Julia’s bright smile can light up any room. But in early 2024, her energy faded, and she lost the ability to walk. A trip to urgent care led to a life-changing diagnosis: acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
Thanks to a clinical trial partly funded by St. Baldrick’s, Julia received blinatumomab (blina), an immunotherapy that—when combined with chemotherapy—improves survival rates while reducing serious side effects.
Despite setbacks, including an infection that delayed treatment, Julia continues to push forward and finished blina in November 2024. Now on maintenance therapy, she’s back in school, regaining her strength, and looking ahead to her ballet recital in June. And in March 2026, she’ll ring the bell to mark the end of her cancer treatment.
Research made this breakthrough possible, and more kids like Julia need our help.
Join us in funding the future of childhood cancer treatment.”
