Elena’s Recollection of Her Sweet Daughter Before Cancer Took Her Away – St. Baldrick’s Foundation

St. Baldrick’s Foundation shared a post on LinkedIn:

“Elena’s recollection of her sweet daughter before cancer took her away:

Brittney Gail was born May 27, 2018, she was our rainbow baby and the perfect addition to our family, as Brian loved being a girl dad. She loved to play dress up, craft, and have dance parties in the kitchen. She loved music and could even sing the lyrics to Your Welcome and Old Town Road at the age of 2. She always kept us smiling with her one liners and perfect comedic timing. Her laugh would light up the room and her sass would let you know who was in charge. She was sassy yet sweet, gentle yet protective, shy yet a performer. She was everything we had ever dreamed she could be and so much more.

In May 2022, she was diagnosed with embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma in the right petrous apex of her temporal bone, just before turning 4. She underwent many rounds of chemotherapy and proton radiation, during which her cancer spread to the meninges around her brain, leptomeningeal disease. This was the worst outcome, no proven treatment and given only a few months left. We tried everything and sadly she entered heaven in June 2023.’

There’s not enough research to help save the lives of kids like Brittney Gail. These kids deserve to grow up, go to college, and land their dream job – not to be told they only have a few months left.

Fuel more treatment options.”
