Sofiat Akinola Highlights Roche’s HPV DNA Test Access for 600 Million Women in LMICs
Sofiat Akinola, Health Policy and External Affairs at Roche, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“It’s been a week since the Global Cervical Cancer Elimination Forum wrapped up, but the energy and momentum from those few days are still very present.
It was inspiring to connect with so many passionate leaders, partners, and advocates, all united by the goal of eliminating cervical cancer.
I’m especially proud to share the significant announcement Roche made here: the expansion of affordable pricing of our HPV DNA tests in low-and-middle income countries (LMICs), now reaching 106 countries and an estimated 600 million women.
This expansion is a tangible step forward in bridging critical access gaps. Our discussions reinforced that equitable access is not just a policy goal, but a moral imperative, and this program is a testament to Roche’s unwavering commitment to making a real difference.
Thank you to Government of Indonesia, the World Health Organization, Gates Foundation, Unitaid, all partners and participants for a truly collaborative and impactful event.
Let’s keep the momentum going.”
