Equal Chances at Life for Children and Young Adults with Cancer Begin with Health Investment – SIOP Europe
SIOP Europe shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Every child and young adult with cancer deserves an equal chance to life – and that starts with strong investment in health.
On 7 May the European Parliament has shared its position on the EU next Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF), the EU’s long-term budget that will define funding priorities for 2028–2034. This feedback will shape the European Commission’s proposal, expected in July 2025.
SIOP Europe, the European Society for Paediatric Oncology (SIOPE) is joining the EU4Health Civil Society Alliance’s campaign to voice its priorities for a strategic and inclusive EU health budget that delivers for every child and adolescent with cancer across Europe.
Children and adolescents with cancer continue to face inequalities in access to care and research. With the MFF shaping health investments for the next 7 years, we must act now to protect the most vulnerable.
Over the next few weeks, we’ll highlight key messages from the EU4HealthCSA campaign — including research investment, health equity and digital innovation— all essential to building a European Health Union that leaves no one behind.
Stay tuned and join us as we call for:
- Equal access to care
- Investments in research
- A future where no child with cancer is left behind
A healthy and competitive Europe starts with strategic investments. Let’s build it together.
Curious about our recommendations for the next MFF?
