Shaibu Issa: Let’s make hepatitis elimination a global health priority

”Hepatitis, particularly hepatitis B and C, claims more lives each year than HIV, yet it receives far less attention and resources. It’s time for governments and international organizations to prioritize hepatitis with the same urgency as HIV.

We have seen the remarkable progress in HIV through global efforts—let’s apply that same commitment to hepatitis. Increased funding, awareness, and access to testing, vaccination, and treatment are essential to save millions of lives.

Together, we can end the silent suffering of those living with hepatitis and prevent further loss. Let’s act now and make hepatitis elimination a global health priority.”
