Sendurai Mani Honors Ray and Lisa DuBois for Visionary Leadership in Cancer Research
Sendurai Mani, Professor of Medicine at Brown University, shared on LinkedIn:
“Honoring Two Truly Visionary Individuals: Ray and Lisa DuBois
I have been fortunate to meet some truly incredible people in my life. At MD Anderson Cancer Center, I had the privilege of meeting one such exceptional person, Dr. Ray DuBois. Ray is a distinguished physician-scientist who currently serves as Director of MUSC Hollings Cancer Center, where he leads innovative efforts in cancer prevention and treatment.
His research has revolutionized our understanding of inflammation’s role in cancer and the potential of anti-inflammatory agents like aspirin to reduce cancer risk.
Ray is a member of the National Academy of Medicine, a former president of AACR, and a leader with Stand Up To Cancer and many other organizations. Beyond his scientific contributions, he is a visionary leader, an extraordinary mentor, and, above all, a humble and kind human being.
Ray’s wife, Lisa, is another remarkable individual. Every time I meet them, I leave inspired and enriched by what I learn. Over the past three days, I had the chance to spend time with them, and I was deeply touched by their simplicity, passion for making a positive impact, and unwavering dedication to helping others.
Lisa and Ray DuBois are the kind of people who inspire me, and many others, to help make the world a better place.”
