100,000 USD match from the Rally Foundation at the Second Global OncoThon

At the Second Global OncoThon hosted by OncoDaily, Dean Crowe, Founder and CEO of the Rally Foundation for Childhood Cancer Research, made a generous announcement—she is putting up a $100,000 match to support the OncoThon. Her challenge is designed to inspire others to contribute to the cause, furthering the mission to fund critical research for pediatric cancer.

She shared the inspiring story behind the creation of the Rally Foundation, explaining that her decision to start the organization was deeply personal. After meeting a young boy diagnosed with brain cancer, she was moved to take action. This encounter ignited her passion to raise awareness and secure funding for childhood cancer, a cause she believes is crucial for every child battling the disease.

Over the years, the Rally Foundation has raised an impressive $35 million for childhood cancer research, helping to drive progress in the fight against pediatric cancers. Dean also highlighted the foundation’s collaboration with other global initiatives, amplifying efforts to raise money and support for childhood cancer research.

OncoDaily and the International Society of Pediatric Oncology (SIOP) are co-hosting the Second Global OncoThon, a 24-hour virtual event raising funds and awareness for pediatric cancer research. Despite being one of the leading causes of childhood death, pediatric cancer continues to receive far less funding than adult cancers, limiting treatment options for children.

With nearly half a million new cases diagnosed annually, the OncoThon serves as a powerful reminder of the critical gap in pediatric cancer care. This event brings together individuals, organizations, and communities to share stories, take action, and advocate for change.
