“Well That Fucked Me Up” Podcast – Navigating Cancer with Mental Resilience – by Sandy Duarte
“I’m thrilled to share that I recently had the opportunity to be interviewed on “Well That Fucked Me Up”, a podcast hosted by the incredible Luke Colson.
During our conversation, we dive into one of life’s toughest challenges—cancer—and explore the critical role mental resilience plays in navigating that journey.
We often hear about the physical battles of cancer, but the mental side is just as important. In this podcast moment, we discuss how strength of mind is the true captain that guides us through the storm. Without it, it’s like a boat without a captain—adrift, vulnerable, and lost.
Sharing stories is one of the most powerful ways we can connect, heal, and empower ourselves. When we open up about our own journeys, we create a space where others feel seen, heard, and understood. Personal stories and real conversations are the food for the soul—they remind us that we’re never truly alone in our struggles.
In the shared vulnerability of these stories, we find strength and solidarity. We lift each other up, inspire courage, and create a collective sense of resilience. The stories we tell don’t just help us heal—they also empower us to keep moving forward, knowing that others have walked similar paths and emerged stronger.
I encourage everyone to not only listen to more stories but to share your own as well. When we open up and share our experiences, we unlock new perspectives and insights—often ones we never knew we needed. Every story has the power to create connections, and through these connections, we find strength. Sharing our journeys helps us process, heal, and grow, while also offering others the chance to see the world through a different lens.
Community is a cornerstone of health—it’s through the exchange of stories, the support of one another, and the shared resilience we build that we find true power. When we share, we uplift not just ourselves, but everyone around us.
In this episode, we’re not just talking about surviving cancer; we’re talking about thriving by focusing on the strength of our minds. Through moments of humour, hope, and shared experiences, we hope to encourage others to see the power of feeding their minds with positivity and resilience, even in the toughest times.
This podcast is a celebration of the collective strength we all have within us. It’s a reminder that while the body may face challenges, the mind can help carry us through. The stories we tell—of overcoming, laughing, and learning—are meant to uplift, inspire, and help us stay mentally strong in the face of adversity.
I invite you to listen on Spotify “Well That Fucked Me Up.”
Let’s continue to share our stories, lift each other up, and remind ourselves that the storm, no matter how fierce, will eventually pass.
