Rima Torosyan: Grateful to be part of the Retinoblastoma Workshop at the POEM Group’s 4th Scientific Meeting
Rima Torosyan, Ophthalmology Fellow at Mari Noubar Eye Clinic of YSMU Hospital Complex N1, shared on LinkedIn:
“Grateful to be part of the Retinoblastoma Workshop at the POEM Group’s 4th Scientific Meeting in Amman, Jordan.
Thanks to the support and mentorship of Dr. Yacoub Yousef, this has been a meaningful milestone in my journey – and, I hope, in Armenia’s future in retinoblastoma care.
The workshop showcased real-world examples of how countries like Jordan have transformed retinoblastoma outcomes through multidisciplinary expertise and system-wide collaboration. Listening to these stories was both inspiring and instructive.
I’m also honored for the opportunity to be a fellow in The Eye Cancer Foundation’s Retinoblastoma Fellowship Program, at The King Hussein Cancer Center. This training will equip me with the tools to contribute to establishing comprehensive retinoblastoma services in Armenia – something we need.
This day marks not just a step forward professionally, but a commitment to build something lasting for children back home. Armenia is next!
Iam also thankful to Dr. Gevorg Tamamyan whose efforts to develop retinoblastoma care in Armenia created the path that led me to this opportunity.”
