Ravindran Kanesvaran: Chairing the 2nd National Cancer Centre Singapore Population Health Retreat

Ravindran Kanesvaran, Chair and Senior Consultant, Division of Medical Oncology, National Cancer Centre Singapore, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“I had the privilege of chairing the 2nd National Cancer Centre Singapore Population Health Retreat, an event that highlighted the significant strides our population health initiatives have made since its inception just over 2 years years ago. The retreat opened with inspiring remarks from our Centre CEO, Prof. Soon Thye LIM setting the stage for an engaging day.

We were then honored to hear from Prof. Chien Earn Lee Deputy Group CEO for Regional Health Systems, who delivered a visionary talk on how SingHealth’s strategic alignment with the Healthier SG initiatives and also other industry leading initiatives are paving the way for Singhealth to become a global leader in population health.

The retreat fostered thought-provoking discussions centered around four key themes that are critical to advancing cancer care:

1) value-driven care, ensuring quality and cost-effective treatment outcomes;

2) end-of-life care, emphasizing compassionate and patient-centered approaches;

3) survivorship and community engagement, focusing on improving the quality of life for cancer survivors and fostering community support;

4) cancer prevention and screening, which are crucial for early detection and reducing the burden of cancer. Having our key community partners like Singapore Cancer Society take part helped add significant value to the discussions.

None of this progress would have been possible without the exceptional efforts of the NCCS Office of Population Health led by Hui Shan Chew . The team’s dedication and commitment made the retreat a tremendous success. Together, we continue to drive impactful, forward-thinking strategies that improve health outcomes and transform cancer care for the better.”
