Yan Leyfman: Ejaculation Frequency Linked to Lower Prostate Cancer Risk
Yan Leyfman, Co-founder and Executive Director of MedNews Week, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Ejaculation Frequency Linked to Lower Prostate Cancer Risk
New 18-year follow-up data from the Health Professionals Study suggests that higher ejaculation frequency may reduce prostate cancer (PCa) risk — one of the few modifiable factors identified to date.
Key Findings:
– 21+ ejaculations/month linked to:
19% lower PCa risk at age 20–29
22% lower PCa risk at age 40–49
– Most significant for low-risk prostate cancer
– Results consistent even after accounting for PSA screening, biopsies, and other health factorsThese findings add to growing evidence that lifestyle factors — even often-overlooked ones — can play a role in PCa prevention.”
