You Can Actually Do Clinical Research Even in a Limited-Resource Setting – Princess Máxima Center for Pediatric Oncology
Princess Máxima Center for Pediatric Oncology shared a post on LinkedIn:
“‘You can actually do clinical research — even in a limited-resource setting’
That’s what pediatric oncologist Irene Nzamu from Kenya realized during a recent research workshop at the Princess Máxima Center in the Netherlands.
She and Gabriel Dapueto from Uruguay were among the pediatric oncologists who joined this international program to learn how to design and implement clinical trials. Both came away with new skills, concrete plans, and — just as importantly — a global network.
‘It was inspiring to meet people from different countries and realities,’ said Gabriel.
‘You understand the steps better between where you are now and where you want to be. We’ve never done a clinical trial before, Now I feel confident — and supported — to start one at home.’ Irene added.
This was the first edition of the international workshop, focused on clinical research in pediatric oncology. Judging by the impact: hopefully the first of many.”
