Cancer Awareness and Research Impact Group Launches on World Ovarian Cancer Day
Cancer Awareness and Research Impact Group (CARIG) shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Yesterday we launched Cancer Awareness and Research Impact Group (CARIG) and commemorated the World Ovarian Cancer Day 2025 themed: ‘No woman left behind.’
The highlight of the event was a compelling and insightful lecture delivered by Dr. Rita Ukeredi (Pharm.D, FPCPharm, SCPAN), a seasoned oncology Pharmacist and cancer advocate. Her presentation shed light on the burden of ovarian cancer, challenges in early detection, and the role of healthcare professionals in patient-centered cancer care. She also reiterated on the urgent need to bridge disparities in cancer care, ensuring that every woman, regardless of background, has access to timely information, diagnosis, and treatment.
We were deeply honored to welcome esteemed guests from Ethiopia, including Associate Professor Haftay and Dr. Tadese Demamu, whose presence underscored the importance of cross-border collaboration in cancer research and advocacy. We say a big ‘thank you’ to all who made out time to join us yesterday. Cheers to the beginning of a movement.”
CARIG marked its official launch during World Ovarian Cancer Day 2025 with a themed event advocating for equitable care access. Dr. Rita Ukeredi delivered a keynote on the challenges and disparities in ovarian cancer detection and care.
The event also welcomed international guests, highlighting the value of global cooperation in cancer advocacy.
