Fidel Rubagumya Shared Updates on Rwanda’s First Oncology Fellowship and Global Support Since Its Launch
Fidel Rubagumya, Adjuvant Associative Professor at Queen’s University, reshared his post on X:
“A year ago, I shared the launch of the medical oncology fellowship University of Rwanda. Since then, global colleagues have stepped up—teaching remotely and even visiting Kigali, like Laure-Anne Teuwen, for in-person sessions. Grateful for this Global Oncology solidarity.”
Quoting his original post:
“In light of the ongoing ASCO 2024, I’m thrilled to announce that this May 2024, the University of Rwanda launched its first-ever medical oncology fellowship program.
ASCO leadership, Eric J. Small, Doug Pyle, has generously provided our fellows with access to all ASCO training resources, including the ASCO SEP (digital book and question bank) and the In-Training Examination. We are also exploring other support opportunities.
If you are a medical oncologist and interested in global oncology, welcome to Rwanda and you can also support us by giving a 45 mins lecture in your specialty to our fellows. DM me for more details.”
