Olubukola Ayodele: London Global Cancer Week is back, and it’s bigger and stronger than ever

Olubukola Ayodele, Consultant Medical Oncologist at the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“Exciting news: London Global Cancer Week is back, and it’s bigger and stronger than ever! Mark your calendars for November 24th to 28th, 2025, as we kick off the seventh year of this vital event.

London Global Cancer Week features a dynamic series of 40 to 50 individual meetings. These gatherings, hosted by committed organizations determined to enhance cancer outcomes globally, usually showcases significant progress achieved by various initiatives across the cancer continuum.

Our goal is to foster coherence in policymaking at both national and international levels through robust discussions. The Week serves as a catalyst for transformative change that directly benefits individuals impacted by cancer around the world.

If you’re ready to make a difference, kindly fill out the host form to lead a session at this year’s LGCW.

Last year, I spearheaded the Friday in-person meeting, concentrating on raising awareness about health inequalities in cancer care. Our inaugural Cancer Health Disparities Event at the House of Commons in 2024 was a resounding success, featuring influential leaders from healthcare, policymaking, and research.

We showcased the exceptional work of early-career researchers dedicated to closing the care gap, ensuring every patient receives the attention they deserve through the Vanessa Moss Prize with our friends at ecancer. Stay alert for this year’s abstract call.

This year, our meeting will focus on the theme ‘From Awareness to Action: Ending Cancer Health Disparities Together.’ We will build on last year’s momentum by emphasizing actionable steps and recognizing those individuals and organizations making significant strides to combat cancer health disparities.

Friday November 28, 2025, will be a day that demands your attention – you won’t want to miss it. We already have an impressive lineup of speakers ready to share their insights. If you’re interested in sponsoring this important event, reach out to me without hesitation.

Let’s be clear: equity in cancer care is a responsibility we all share, and it’s time to take action.”
