“It’s official! I am so excited to announce my new business: SurgeonCoach

With over 25 years in academic surgery, as a surgeon, scientist, educator and leader, and as a SeattleCoach Certified professional, I am thrilled to coach surgeons on professional development, leadership skills and work-life balance. Having mentored and sponsored dozens of surgeons, many of whom are deans, chairs of departments, and directors of institutes, I can think of no greater honor than to partner with talented and dedicated professionals, whether they are stepping into leadership, navigating change, or seeking a more fulfilling path.

At Johns Hopkins, I was an NIH-funded endocrine surgeon scientist and Associate Dean for Postdoctoral Affairs. At the University of Virginia, I served as Chair of the Department of Surgery. Nationally, I served as President of both the American Association of Endocrine Surgeons and the American Thyroid Association. I also bring many of life’s lessons as a college varsity athlete, mother, friend, naval officer, dancer, and world traveler.
