A New Report on Ethnic Inequalities in Cancer Care – European Cancer Organisation
European Cancer Organisation shared a post on LinkedIn:
” A new report!
Ethnic inequalities in cancer care remain widespread, with structural and social barriers continuing to influence who gets screened, diagnosed, and treated.
During this year’s Global Public Health Week, ECO partnered with European Public Health Alliance (EPHA) to bring this issue into sharper focus.
The event report from the recent joint webinar explores:
- How cultural stigma and underrepresentation affect prostate cancer research in Black communities
- Why disaggregated ethnicity data is critical for policy action and why migration status isn’t enough
- The role of community-based outreach and ethics frameworks can make cancer care more inclusive
This discussion is part of ECO’s efforts through its Inequalities Network to reduce disparities in cancer outcomes and drive change in European health systems.
