Nelson Dusetti: Advancing Global Commitment to Tackling Poor Prognosis Cancers at G7 Cancer Conference
Nelson Dusetti, Head of the Translational Research and Innovative Therapies Department at the Cancer Research Centre of Marseille (CRCM), shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Global commitment to tackling poor prognosis cancers. On June 26, 2025, the G7 Cancer conference took place in Paris, organised by the Institut national du cancer (INCa) in collaboration with the National Cancer Center Japan, as part of France’s G7 Cancer presidency.
This high-level scientific meeting brought together experts from around the world, all united by the shared goal of transforming the outlook for cancers with persistently low survival rates.
The day covered crucial topics shaping the future of oncology, including:
- Tumour biology and molecular mechanisms driving aggressiveness
- Development of innovative therapies
- Prevention strategies and early detection
- Identification of biomarkers and novel diagnostic tools
- Genetic and environmental cancer risk factors
- Applications of artificial intelligence in research, clinical practice
design and challenges of clinical trials - International cooperation and knowledge exchange
- Technological advances enabling earlier diagnoses, treatment personalisation
and more effective treatments
I am deeply grateful to have shared this space with so many brilliant and dedicated colleagues, and to have been there representing our work at the CRCM – Centre de Recherche en Cancérologie de Marseille and the Institut Paoli-Calmettes (IPC).
I firmly believe that only through global collaboration, innovative research, and continuous knowledge sharing can we make progress against these complex cancers. The presentations were truly inspiring and carry an important message for all young researchers who are shaping the future of oncology.
For anyone interested in revisiting the sessions, all the talks are available for replay here. My sincere appreciation goes to the INCa for their outstanding organisation and to all the professionals who contributed their expertise and vision to this significant event.
Among the many remarkable experts who took part were:
Yoshiyuki Majima, Raul Urrutia, Hilary Robbins, Marie-Charlotte Henrion, Nicolas Scotté, Klaus Pantel, Anirban Maitra, Jessica Zucman-Rossi, Steve Gallinger, Dieter Saur, Ryuji Hamamoto, Claude Chelala, Belinda Lee, John Neoptolemos, Marisa NISHIO, Michel Ducreux, Patrick Couvreur, Juan Iovanna.”
