Neil Desai: ESTRO-APCCC debate session on RT escalation to offset Systemic Treatment Escalation in HRPCa
Neil Desai, Radiation Oncologist at UT Southwestern Medical Center, shared a post on X:
“ESTRO-APCCC debate session on RT escalation to offset Systemic Treatment Escalation in HRPCa begins with Dr Spohn arguing for the enlarging spectrum of personalized RT escalation approaches.
Excellent summary of how this spectrum of options vs past increases degrees of freedom in this debate.
Now Giulio Francolini‘s turn with taking to the defense of systemic therapy intensification as the current best path forward for improving excellent outcomes of RT treated HRPCa. “1st wave” mets most impt to address.
Vedang Murthy up next for a rebuttal but he will choose his own side thank you very much.
Excellent points that STAMPEDE high risk cohort RT was not uniform and arguably not to current “augmented RT” standard, raising Q of who benefits from ARPI.
Dr Gillessen assuring us we mostly agree – selection of systemic intensification critical and notes we have mult studies soon reporting to answer questions with data over dogma. Shortening ADT via ARPI intensification also appealing idea.”
