NCDconnect Highlights Progress of ACT for Children Pediatric Cancer Initiative
NCDconnect shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Earlier this year, our NCDconnect team, through IDA Foundation, joined Access Cancer Treatment (ACT) for Children—a collaborative initiative committed to closing the care gap in pediatric cancer across low- and middle-income countries.
A couple of weeks ago, ACT partners came together for the first time to reflect, share lessons, and chart the way forward. It was a powerful gathering of people and perspectives—from paediatric oncology experts, organisations across the world and perspectives from countries such as Armenia, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Indonesia.
The shared focus:
Timely access to essential and innovative medicines.
Secure, reliable supply chains (where we support).
Local capability building.
Holistic support for patients and their families.
Better outcomes and more children surviving and thriving after acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (ALL).
So far, ACT has enabled the delivery of $2.8 million worth of medicines to 9 hospitals across Central America and Asia.
This is what collaboration looks like in action. And we’re just getting started. A huge thank you to all ACT partners driving this forward with purpose and care.
More updates to come—stay tuned.”
NCDconnect reported on the initial gathering of partners in the Access Cancer Treatment (ACT) for Children initiative, which supports pediatric cancer care in low- and middle-income countries. The collaboration has already delivered $2.8 million in essential medicines to hospitals across Central America and Asia.
