Nazik Hammad: Celebrating Melinda Mushonga at the University of Zimbabwe clinical oncology training program
Nazik Hammad, Professor at the Division of Hematology and Oncology at St. Michael’s Hospital, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Join me in celebrating Dr. Melinda Mushonga, assistant professor at Queen’s University, Canada and a tireless teacher at the University of Zimbabwe clinical oncology training program. She gave an outstanding presentation at the Canadian Global Oncology Network conference yesterday in Montreal describing the Queen’s Global Oncology program.
Please watch out for the results of her much awaited study on radiation-induced skin changes/dermatitis in Black women, an under-recognized and under-treated toxicity because all the academic descriptions of the phenomenon are from studies in White women.
This study will have huge implications for Black women around the globe.”
