Recognizing Cancer Warriors as Integral Partners in the Fight Against Cancer – National Cancer Institute of Kenya
National Cancer Institute of Kenya shared a post on X:
“The 2nd National Cancer Summit provided a crucial platform for cancer warriors to share their experiences and contribute to the national cancer conversation.
Organized by the National Cancer Institute-Kenya, the summit recognized these individuals as integral partners in the fight against cancer.
The summit gave cancer warriors a voice, allowing them to advocate for better healthcare policies, improved access to treatment, and greater support systems.
These warriors were presented as champions of hope and agents of change. Sharing their firsthand knowledge of the healthcare system’s strengths and weaknesses, provided invaluable insights for policymakers, researchers, and healthcare professionals.
The NCI-K’s initiative to include them was motivated by a shift toward a more patient-centered approach in Kenya’s cancer control efforts.”
