Natalie Johnson: Fostering Gratitude and Connection at Kidney Cancer Association Retreat
Natalie Johnson, Co-Founder and Chief Visionary at Vidl Work, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“What happens when you take a moment and tell someone you are grateful for them?
I led a retreat for the Kidney Cancer Association on Friday. The focus was connection and communication. Each person expressed gratitude while tossing a ball of string. We surfaced the invisible connection between this team in a visual way. What started as a single thread became a visible reminder of how connected they are. It’s a powerful reminder that connection doesn’t require grand gestures, just intention, presence and a few honest words.
It was especially meaningful because my dad and my father-in-law are kidney cancer survivors. To sit in a room with people who live and work in the heart of this mission — and witness such genuine expressions of appreciation — was something I won’t forget.
Thank you Gretchen E. Vaughan and Angela Washington for being so intentional in the experience you wanted for the team. It was an honor to get to know them.”
Gretchen E. Vaughan, the CEO of the Kidney Cancer Association, shared Natalie Johnson‘s post, adding:
“Natalie, you never disappoint with your heartfelt enthusiasm and all around infectious energy. Your interactive exercises always leave a positive and applicable lasting impression. We are most grateful for you and given your kismet connections to kidney cancer, we are most definitely connected for life. Thank you for all you do”.
