Naoto T Ueno: All New Drugs Were Initially Developed with NIH Money – Funding Is Important
Naoto T Ueno, Director of the University of Hawaii Cancer Center, shared a post on X:
“Power of advocacy.
I know that posting science-related stuff is essential, but now equally important is addressing cancer research funding. For clinicians, you may not feel the impact now, but all new drugs were initially developed with NIH money.
We need to educate our community on the importance of pushing back against the NIH cut. It will destroy all the gains that we have obtained over these five decades.”
