Miriam Mutebi: Why Should You Attend AORTIC Networking Reception during ASCO 2025 Conference?
Miriam Mutebi, Breast Surgical Oncologist and Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery at the Aga Khan University Hospital, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Psst… Did you hear?
It’s almost time for the annual American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) conference! The largest global oncology conference that discusses advances in oncology and patient care.
And guess what? We’ve got an AORTIC-Africa networking side event lined up. It brings together people from across the globe who are working to transform cancer care in Africa.
Why should you attend?
Well…Because it’s more than just a meet-and-greet. It’s an incredible opportunity to learn about collaborative efforts for cancer control in Africa.
It’s a chance to hobnob with legends of Africa; trailblazers who raised AORTIC and advanced cancer care on the continent.
It’s a rare moment to connect with the young, bright minds of AORTIC and Africa, people passionately working to make a difference for our populations.
And of course…
It’s a chance to get down, throw down, and bring your best moves in the spirit of Ubuntu. Because when we laugh and cry together, we must be able to dance together too.
A wise African man once said: Let the people dance; for in dance flows healing and life.
Oops. Did I just date myself? No harm done. Let’s see who’s got the better Amapiano, or Charleston.
All are welcome on the 31st of May.”
