Mila Ogalla Toledo: Cancer doesn’t know and doesn’t care about age
Mila Ogalla Toledo, Patient Advocate, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“I was forced to walk an unnecessarily long path towards getting a cancer diagnosis simply because of my age. But let’s be clear… Cancer doesn’t know (and doesn’t care) about age.
It is time to challenge the stigma surrounding cancer in adolescents and young adults (AYAs) by fostering open conversations and advocating for a more equitable, diverse and inclusive healthcare system.
A system where policymakers, healthcare professionals, and society at large recognize and respond to early-onset cancers with the urgency and attention we deserve.”
