Mila Ogalla Toledo: ECCAM25 is here to raise awareness about colorectal cancer
Mila Ogalla Toledo, Patient Advocate, shared a post on LinkedIn by Digestive Cancers Europe, adding:
“Cancer doesn’t know about age, and unfortunately, no one is ‘too young’ for cancer.
There is still a common misconception that colorectal cancer (CRC) mostly affects older adults.
Many young people, and even doctors, don’t always consider it a possibility for younger individuals, or don’t associate it with younger people.
ECCAM25 is here to break this misconception and raise awareness about the risks and early signs, especially for younger audiences.
If you know, you know.”
Quoting Digestive Cancers Europe’s post:
“ECCAM25 is here and IYKYK.
If you know, you know:
- the challenges of colorectal cancer (CRC)
- the fact that it is impacting younger and younger individuals
- the risks, the symptoms and the misconceptions
- the opportunities for screening and prevention!
Talking about cancer should never be a taboo, especially not in professional circles. That is why, this month, colorectal cancer patients are telling their (mostly) unfiltered stories in their own words on our social media channels, including here, to talk about what everyone needs to know.
Join the campaign and share their powerful stories with your network and help more people know more.”
