Michael Sapienza: Hopeful that Secretary Kennedy Will Reinforce the Tremendous Progress in Prevention Through No-Cost CRC Screenings
Michael Sapienza, Chief Executive Officer at Colorectal Cancer Alliance, shared on LinkedIn:
“Recent reports indicate that U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. plans to alter the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF), whose members recommend which critical preventive health screenings are covered by insurers at no cost to Americans.
The Colorectal Cancer Alliance and our Screen Smart partners applaud the administration’s stated commitment to preventing chronic diseases, including cancer, and its goal to Make America Make America Healthy Again.
We share the Secretary’s passion for preventing chronic diseases, and encourage him to uphold the vital role of USPSTF experts, while protecting vital preventive services, like colorectal cancer screening.
The Alliance and its partners are hopeful that Secretary Kennedy will reinforce the tremendous progress we’ve made in prevention and early detection through no-cost CRC screenings that have saved countless American lives.
