Medicaid Cancer Foundation Hosts American Cancer Society Team to Advance Patient-Centered Cancer Care
Medicaid Cancer Foundation shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Yesterday, we had the immense honour of hosting the American Cancer Society team at Medicaid Cancer Foundation. It was a deeply impactful meeting focused on shared goals and future collaboration.
We welcomed Kristie McComb, MPH (Managing Director, Global Patient Support), Erica Krisel, MPH, and Jenna D., MPH (Program Managers, Global Patient Support), Pharmacist Akanbi Rafiu, the ACS representative in Nigeria, along with Dr. Uche Nwokwu of the National Cancer Control Programme (NCCP) to our office.
Together, we reflected on the strides made through our patient navigation work; Carewheels initiative as well as the importance of our newly launched Telemedicine Center, while the ACS team shared key learnings from the recently concluded BEACON Project and introduced their upcoming Project SPARK designed to span across Nigeria, Kenya and Uganda.
With our CEO, HE Dr Zainab Shinkafi-Bagudu present, the ACS team recognized her longstanding contributions to the cancer space, particularly her election as the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) President-Elect and her leadership in championing the Cancer Health Fund in Kebbi State.
It was a rich and forward-thinking dialogue on strengthening patient-centered care and scaling impact across Africa.
We’re grateful for the ACS team’s time, insights, and commitment. The journey to transforming cancer care is a shared one – and we’re excited about the road ahead.”
