Rob Winn: Science Saves Lives, and at Massey, We’re Making Sure it Saves Every Life it can

Rob Winn, Director and Lipman Chair in Oncology at VCU Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center and a professor at VCU School of Medicine, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“In 2023, Governor Glenn Youngkin officially recognized VCU Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center Day, honoring our place as one of just 57 NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Centers in the U.S.
What makes us different?
It’s not just the science, it’s where the science goes.
We’ve spent 50+ years serving central Virginia, and now we’re doing more than ever to:
  • Drive breakthrough discoveries in breast, lung, GI, and prostate cancer.
  • Expand clinical trials to rural and underserved communities.
  • Partner with patients, tribes, and neighborhoods to close gaps in cancer outcomes.
  • Make sure every treatment reaches the people it’s meant to help.
This isn’t just about being nationally ranked, it’s about being locally rooted. From Henrico to Halifax, from Goochland to Gloucester, we’re working to ensure no one is left behind in the fight against cancer.

Rob Winn celebrated the 2023 proclamation of VCU Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center Day, recognizing its unique approach to equity in cancer care.
