Mark Fleming: Early detection is key to improved outcomes
Mark Fleming, Chair National Policy Board at The US Oncology Network, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Prostate cancer is often asymptomatic and, as a result, goes undiagnosed for far too long. I know this not just as an oncologist – but as someone who lost his father to prostate cancer.
For Men’s Health Week, I encourage all healthcare professionals to talk to their male patients about their specific prostate cancer risk. Black men should begin at age 40 as per the Prostate Cancer Foundation guidelines and age 45-50 for other men with a family history per both the American Urological Association and American Cancer Society. Early detection is key to improved outcomes.”
