Maitland Cancer Appeal Committee Has Been Raising Funds for Cancer Research
Mark Hughes Foundation Centre for Brain Cancer Research shared on LinkedIn:
“Members of our team had the pleasure of visiting the Maitland Cancer Appeal Committee for a morning tea at their op-shop at Rutherford today. This incredible community has been raising funds for cancer research in our region since 2011 and our Centre’s been the recipient of funding that’s been vital for advancing our research.
MHF Centre PhD Candidate Simin Zheng filled in the team on her research into drug repurposing for glioblastoma. And Centre Director Professor Mike Fay gave an insight into how crucial this funding is in building of knowledge of brain cancer and our next generation of cancer researchers.
We also heard updates from Professor Matt Dun and Professor Hubert Hondermarck along with Professor Nikola Bowden and Professor Pablo Moscato.
It’s thanks to generous community donations like these that we’re able to advance our research and make greater strides into solving the puzzle that is brain cancer. Every dollar makes a difference, and we are so grateful for this support.”
