Lung Cancer Europe – Can Laughter Really Help When You’re Living with Lung Cancer?
Lung Cancer Europe posted on LinkedIn:
“Can laughter really help if you’re living with lung cancer?
Early research says it might, especially for easing stress and lifting mood.
A small review presented at the European Respiratory Society 2023 looked at laughter-based therapies in people with lung conditions, including lung cancer. The evidence is early but points to quality-of-life benefits. (Source: European Lung Foundation summary of ERS 2023 presentation)
Across other cancers, there’s stronger data. A 2023 review of nine clinical trials found laughter therapy helped reduce anxiety, stress, depression, pain and fatigue.
It’s not a treatment. But it is safe, free, and might make a tough day feel a little lighter.”
