Liz O’Riordan: Why Is It So Hard to Say ‘No’?
Liz O’Riordan, Breast Surgeon with Breast Cancer and an Advocate for Cancer Awareness, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“I am tired.
The constant juggling of current projects, future plans, writing new talks, creating that viral reel – wtih monthly targeted cancer treatment can feel overwhelming at times.
Why is it so hard to say ‘No’?
I’m slowly learning to block out chucks of time for other people’s stuff and to prioritise my own time.
When you work for yourself without a rigid schedule it’s all to easy to let the two worlds merge.
And that’s before the collateral damage of cancer rears its ugly head.
So there’s no catchy hook, take-away or CTA.
Just a reality check,
Often all it takes is writing down the reality of my life for me to see the way forward.”
