Lauren Ridgley Shares Father’s Story of Small-Cell Lung Cancer at Providence Event
Lauren Ridgley, NextNW Board Marketing Chair and CEO of Left Hand Agency, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“This week my dad did the most incredible thing. He bravely stood up in a room full of 100s of people and talked about his journey battling small-cell lung cancer. He was so nervous before the speech but absolutely crushed it.
Standing ovation.
There were lots of tears from my sister and me.
I want to thank Providence Cancer Institute foundation for the invitation. And tremendous thanks to his doctor Rachel Sanborn, MD for all her work saving lives. (We also got to meet her parents who must be so proud!)
My dad has been in a clinical trial with Merck and we have a lot of hope. Feeling grateful for medical advances and the people pushing research forward.”
“Lauren Ridgley, I was in the room when your Dad got up and spoke to hundreds of people about his cancer journey.
How he enrolled into a clinical trial run by Rachel Sanborn, Providence Cancer Institute / Earle A. Chiles Research Institute and received a new drug developed by Merck as treatment for Small Cell Lung Cancer.
It was a powerful moment and I was delighted to meet your Dad, shake his hand, and thank him for helping to spread the word about Clinical Trials for patients with tough to treat cancers.
The important message is that those trials may give patients a chance at better outcomes – Better outcomes like your Dad is experiencing.”
