Laith Samhouri, Director of Saudi Radiation Oncology Center at Jordan University of Science and Technology, shared on LinkedIn:
“Proud of this Achievement at Saudi Center for Radiotherapy and King Abdullah University Hospital in Jordan: Treating 4 Liver Metastases with SBRT (Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy)
In December 2024, imaging scans revealed the progression of 4 liver metastases, leading to the decision to implement a groundbreaking treatment using Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy (SBRT), a precise and effective technique. The advanced treatment plan included:
- Utilization of high-resolution 4D CT simulation imaging.
- Daily treatment guidance and accuracy verification using dynamic Cone Beam CT.
- Treatment of four liver metastases in a single treatment plan.
- Fractionation of doses into 8 sessions, spaced every other day.
The remarkable results after 3 months were:
- Complete resolution of liver metastases.
- No new metastases appeared.
- Full treatment response without the need for surgical intervention.
- No side effects or complications from the treatment.
We take great pride in this achievement, showcasing the cutting-edge capabilities of our medical team and our commitment to providing the best care for our patients.”
