Laina Iiyambo: Happy to have attended the ASCO-AIOM Course
Laina Iiyambo, Clinical Oncologist at A B May Cancer Care Centre, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Choosing treatment with meaningful benefits for cancer patients is crucial. When clinical trials are conducted, clinically meaningful outcomes should be demonstrated before drugs are approved for clinical use; Both physical and financial toxicities critically analyzed!
Clinicians should critique the results before choosing to use a specific medicine for their patients. I am happy to be attending The International Clinical Research Course in Rome, Italy, aimed at beginning investigators to learn more about how to organize research, assess the quality of published research and its impact on evidence-based medicine, organized by American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) in collaboration with AIOM. A special emphasis on Principles for the Design, Analysis, and Reporting of clinical trials.
A special thanks to AIOM for funding support!”
