Kimryn Rathmell, CEO of Ohio State’s James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“What an inspiring first day as CEO of The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center-James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute! It is truly thrilling to be here, and I am so proud to serve in this role.
A highlight was getting to tour just a few of our incredible facilities and meet some of the passionate people here driving progress against cancer. During my initial visits, I was impressed by the leading-edge work and conversations with faculty and staff from Radiation Oncology, Bone Marrow Transplant and Cell Therapy, Population Sciences and Community Outreach, as well as the Center for Tobacco Research.
Great people doing great work, and so much more to see!
It was wonderful to see that the importance of engaging with the communities we serve across Ohio and beyond and focusing on people’s wellbeing when they face the challenges related to cancer is as top of mind for the team here as it is for me.
I continue to be more impressed the more I see and learn, and most importantly, I’m excited about the BIG opportunities on the horizon for the OSUCCC – James.
I’d like to thank everyone who shared their time with me today
and helped me to get my bearings. I couldn’t ask for a better first day at The James – I’m already feeling the incredible Buckeye spirit!”
