“‘Do I have prostate cancer?’
It’s been since Thanksgiving that my brother-in-law has had this question on his mind.
The news of a positive diagnosis came early January. He and my sister now in month four of tests, biopsies, scans, insurance denials/approvals and enduring the emotions of an agonizingly slow process. They hope for definitive treatment choices at the end of this month.
The good news (?)… it’s slow growing…. But does that make this all ok?
Unfortunately, his experience isn’t unique – it’s the reality for too many patients navigating the cancer care system.
But what if it didn’t have to be this way? What if we could solve the bottleneck in cancer care?
