“On cervical cancer elimiation day, WHO launches new target product profiles for HPV screening for cervical cancer. This confirms the strong direction of travel towards HPV screening and away from less accurate tests.
Today, governments have a menu of 14 validated test options. These new TPP for HPV screening will shape next generation platforms, ensuring that they respond to a clear public health need. The first point-of-care TPP aims to serve communities that need same day results and follow-up treatment and the second TPP is intended for medium to high throughput supporting complimentary laboratory-based approaches.”
