Joshua Pritchett, Oncologist at Mayo Clinic, Advisor at the Rural Cancer Institute, shared on LinkedIn:
“Just ended my week in DC. It is an honor to be the newest member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) ’s Clinical Practice and Innovation Committee.
I have political beliefs and opinions. All of us do. I am proud to have lived a life where I have colleagues and patients that have shared conflicting emotions with me this week.
But cancer is not partisan in its affliction. Cancer impacts all of us. It crosses party lines; destroying families and communities.
It has devastated my own family. It is personal for me. So I find it a sacred duty and privelege to be able to come together with colleagues in our nation’s Capitol, crossing party lines, geographical boundaries, and institutional priorities, on a shared mission: to lessen the destructive burden of cancer.
Looking forward to partnering with all of the existing and newly elected legislators in the upcoming sessions.”
