Joseph McCollom: Navigating Early Career as an Oncologist – Thriving in Diverse Paths
Joseph McCollom, Gastrointestinal Medical Oncology Physician at Parkview Cancer Institute, posted on X:
“Navigating early career can be a challenge, but finding one’s passion is well worth it.
Join us on Friday May 30th at ASCO25 at 2:45p CST as we each share our stories from community, academia and industry perspectives in room E350.”
Supriya Peshin, Visiting Resident in Hematology and Oncology at MD Anderson Cancer Center, posted on X:
“Entering the field of oncology is both a privilege and a profound responsibility. For early career doctor like me who aspire to be oncologist the path is paved with purpose but also layered with complexity. Early in our careers, it’s easy to measure success by titles, grants, and publications.
But many of us eventually learn to value a different kind of metric: the patient we comforted, the mentee we helped, the team we supported. Oncology is not just a science; it’s a human practice.
Let us keep walking forward with purpose, with persistence, and with the support of one another. I am Honored and blessed to have outstanding and supportive mentors. Thank you so much Dr. McCollom for this session . So much to learn and grow.
Looking forward to this!”
