Jérôme Salomon: High-level UN General Assembly Meeting 2025 will focus on better accessibility of medicines and health technologies
“Limited access to essential medicines and health technologies remains a significant barrier in the global effort to prevent, detect and treat NCDs, mental health and neurological conditions.
This year’s High-level Meeting of the United Nations General Assembly on the prevention and control of NCDs HLM4 is an opportunity to take and accelerate action on:
- Affordability and Availability: Strengthen pricing policies, financial protection, and use of quality generics/biosimilars.
- Procurement and Supply Chains: Prevent shortages and ensure quality by improving strategic procurement and supporting diversified manufacturing.
- Quality and Innovation: Strengthen regulatory systems, harmonize policies, and align intellectual property with global health needs to improve NCD treatment and care.
Read the latest commentary and discover key resources on access to NCD medicines and technologies in the HLM4 countdown campaign series.”
