Jennifer Douglas: I Have Had More Biopsies Than I Can Count, And I Still Hate Them Every Time
Jennifer Douglas, Writer and DCIS Breast Cancer Patient Advocate, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Even after multiple biopsies, I still find them to be one of the most emotionally difficult parts of the breast cancer experience.
This past week, I revisited that part of the journey—not because I needed another biopsy, but because I recorded a new biopsy module for my Encourage membership.
In it, I guide members through:
- Why biopsies are recommended
- What different types involve
- How to manage the anxiety before and after
- What it means to live in the uncertainty while waiting for results
Biopsies are never just a procedure—they’re emotionally loaded, often triggering fear, fatigue, and big questions about what comes next.
My membership, Encourage: Breast Cancer and Beyond, is a supportive online space for newly diagnosed patients and survivors. It brings my book to life through video modules, live group calls, and a private, non-social media community.
If you or someone you support is navigating early-stage breast cancer, you can learn more here.
Let’s make sure no one has to walk this path alone.”
