Ishtar Espejo: Moving towards better nutritional care in pediatric oncology
Ishtar Espejo, Director at the Aladina Foundation, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“This week I had the privilege of participating as an online speaker at the AHOPCA congress, an event that brought together professionals from all over the American region, organized in collaboration with St. Jude Global and FANLYC in Panama.
Together with Dr. Elena Ladas, a fundamental piece in the creation and implementation of EPICKids, I shared with the international medical community the importance of nutrition in childhood cancer. This project, funded by Fundación Aladina, not only seeks to collect data on the nutritional status of patients during their treatments, but aims to significantly improve how we approach their nutrition.
The interest shown by the attending professionals reinforces the relevance of this initiative. By working as a network, we can move towards better nutritional care in pediatric oncology.
