Isabel Mestres: This week, I would like to dedicate a post to the City Cancer Challenge Technical Cooperation and Capacity Development team led by Alfredo Polo
Isabel Mestres, CEO at City Cancer Challenge Foundation, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“This week, I would like to dedicate a post to the City Cancer Challenge Technical Cooperation and Capacity Development (TCCD) team led by Alfredo Polo.
If City Managers are C/Can drivers, the TCCD team is C/Can’s engine.
They are responsible for overseeing cancer care projects, ensuring everything runs perfectly and minimizing risks.
They support local project management by simplifying complexities and ensuring the best practices are in place.
They provide technical support in cancer care, upholding high standards of quality and professionalism to achieve impactful outcomes.
Right now, the TCCD team is overseeing 53 projects across all areas of C/Can focus, including governance and leadership, service delivery, health financing, workforce development and health information. However, they are not alone in their mission!
They are backed up by technical partners such as International Atomic Energy Agency , American Society for Clinical Pathology , Catalan Institute of Oncology, Tata Memorial Hospital, International Society of Nurses in Cancer Care, among 70 others and a roster of 390 experts from cities and around the world.
I had the honour of meeting some of these amazing people in Doha, hosted by QCS, recently and thanking them personally for their incredible engagement with C/Can. Their dedication is truly inspiring, and it’s amazing to see the impact they are making in patients’ lives.“
